Student Ministry Parents,

Choir & Life Groups:
We will have our Student Choir and Life Group Kickoff this Sunday, September 7. Choir will begin at 5:00 p.m. and Life Groups will follow at 6:00 p.m. We will have a time of prayer and worship at 6:00 for students, parents, and the college leaders. This will be the kickoff to the new year of Life Groups and a chance for you to meet the college student that will be leading your son’s or daughter’s group.

Romans:
The focus of the Student Ministry this Fall will be the book of Romans. Students will be encouraged to spend time studying it each week for discussions on Sunday nights during Life Groups. We will also teach through Romans on Wednesday nights beginning September 17. This would be a great focus for your family as well for the fall. We will publish a calendar that divides the book up over the whole semester.

Parenting Series:
The Preschool, Children, and Student Ministries at FBCO are sponsoring a parenting series on Sunday evenings in October. Each of these sessions will take place at 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Childcare will be provided for ages birth-sixth grade. To help us better plan for childcare, please register online at fbcopelika.com. Childcare reservations are not required, but are very helpful. This is a great outreach event to the community, so be sure to invite other families you know to attend with you. The topics and guest speakers include:

-October 5: Dr. Barry St. Clair (Reach Out Youth Solutions)
See Your Kids Through the Gospel Prism: What most Christian parents miss in raising their kids to follow Jesus.

-October 12: Dr. Allen Jackson (New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary)
Parenting in a Digital Age: Social networking, identity theft, video gaming, snapchat, and sexting.

-October 19: FBCO Staff and Parents Panel
Discipling Your Children: Ideas and insights on how to be intentional about raising your children to follow Jesus.

Disciple Now: January 16-18, 2015 (FBCO and Host Homes)
Mix Choir Mission Trip: June 2015 (Final Dates and Location TBD)
Summer Camp: July 11-15, 2015 (Ocoee Retreat Center, Ocoee, TN)
