sin is war

Angry-Cats

This week we will be talking about our earthly bodies and the war sin takes on our bodies as a new creation in Christ. This sounds complex and weird, but really it is simple.

When we are baptized and accept Jesus into our lives, we become new and are not the same person anymore. We are no longer bound by sin, we are forgiven!

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:4

We are new in Christ! Our mind and our hearts are focused on God, but with this comes the evil and sin of the world. As long as we are here, our bodies are held captive to this truth and therefore we are split into a battle of two bodies: the earthly and heavenly.

“Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.” Romans 7:25

To hear more about this topic, come listen in at The Well this Wednesday night, where Taylor will be speaking to us on this topic of war and our Spirit.

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Rev. 4:11. Read More
