I’m excited to announce that we have a new team member that will be starting soon. Taylor McQueen is our new Student Ministry Girls Associate. Taylor was born and raised in Panama City, Florida, and graduated last May from Troy University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a minor in Leadership Development. At her home church, First Baptist Church Panama City, Taylor was active in the Student Ministry focusing on mentoring and discipling middle school and high school girls. She was a leader in her campus ministry at Troy, and attended Beach Project, a summer ministry that helped develop her evangelism skills. She loves working with students and helping them understand the Gospel in a real way.
Taylor will work full-time in the Student Ministry helping with administrative tasks in the office, while also focusing on girls’ ministry. Her first official day is December 1 after she finishes up some prior commitments, but she will be at our church on Sunday, November 16, to begin meeting the girls. Taylor has written a letter to both parents and students introducing herself. We’ll have it in the mail (and on the blog) later this week.
Susan Black has been a valuable part of the Student Ministry team and has done a great job of handling the administrative tasks of the Student Ministry for the past five years. In September, Susan began transitioning to a position working with Adult Ministries. She will be missed in the Student Ministry, but thankfully she isn’t traveling too far (just across the office)!
Grace & Peace,
Dan Strickland
Minister to Students
