His love is on fleek

I love you people. Good grades or bad grades; Auburn, Opelika or other high schools; tall or short; Auburn, Alabama, or even Florida state fan… I absolutely try to love every single person I encounter. Whether my day has been fun or horrible, I still have so many blessings that I am thankful for (no worries this isn’t a Thanksgiving post).

God has also called us to love and He shows us this firstly by giving us all that He has, granting us the ability to live and breathe so that we may worship Him, but He also shows us His love through the scripture He has given us in the Bible.

This passage is called the Great Commission and its in Matthew 28:16-20, Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’”

This is God essentially saying to tell others about Him because when we do we will have Christ in our hearts and all things can be accomplished through Him.

This is the man who has ALL authority. This isn’t your parents, this isn’t your principal, it’s not even Obama… God covers all of this and He tells us to fill it with love.

We should make disciples, not rebels. We should do things that bring people closer to God, not farther.

Remember this? “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39

Read those words. God will not leave us, He is an absolute in a world of half truths and broken promises.

So where do you and I fit into all of this? How can we show love to others right now? Well, if you are reading this at school you could ask an old friend how their week has been. Maybe they are having a rough time and have felt alone, show them God’s love.

If you are coming to the Well this Wednesday night (I definitely recommend you do, I realize I’m totally biased) we will be putting together boxes of food to give to families in need. This is a huge way to show love and to make disciples. Sometimes it is harder to feel God’s love when things aren’t going your way in life and we have been called to help these families this week.

If you don’t know what boxes I am referring to, read this article from earlier. God is perfect unending love and He wants to give that to you! Today I hope that everyone feels blessed no matter what situation you are in or what grade you made on that last Anatomy test.

I love you guys, see ya Wednesday!
