he is life

As we continue our series through John, this week we make a stop in chapters six and seven. These chapters end up answering a lot of questions we continue to seek answers for.

 “What is my purpose?”

“How do I get rid of this deep anxiety I am experiencing?”

“Am I enough?”

“What is the key to happiness?”

McDonalds-Happy-MealIf the power of John 1-5 hasn’t answered these questions for you yet, John 6-7 will. These two chapters show our mighty King displaying miracles—He provides a feast of a meal for thousands of hungry people from basically one Happy Meal. He literally walks on top of waves that could overturn a boat, calming the seas.

What is your soul hungry for?

What are the storms you’re dealing with in your life?

The same Jesus that performed these miracles in Bible times is the same Jesus that we have total access to now. He can feed your hungry soul. Not just feed it, satisfy it fully.

He can walk on the storms that are overwhelming your heart. Not just walk on them, but completely calm them. He has been my solid anchor and rock for any heartbreak, anxiety, stress, shame, sadness or hurt I have ever experienced. He quenches my thirst and satisfies my hunger.

He can smooth rough waters and He can smooth my uneasy spirit that is so quick to feel anxious. Each time, He delivers me and reminds me of my redemption.

“Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.’” John 6:35

Check out this song by David Crowder that speaks the Gospel so thoroughly, so beautifully. “Come out of sadness, from wherever you’ve been. Come broken hearted, let the rescue begin. Come find your mercy, oh sinner, come kneel.”

Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can’t heal.

I am so excited for this Wednesday night—our Night of Worship. I’m anxiousScreen Shot 2015-02-09 at 10.22.14 AMly awaiting this time of worship, and a sweet time of prayer with our brothers and sisters at The Well. We will begin praying for the night at 5:30 on Wednesday; will open the doors for everyone to come in at 6:00, and our service starts at 6:30. Join us at 5:30 as we prepare our hearts for a night of experiencing His presence and His truth through His Word.

My prayer for you today is that you would understand His relentless pursuit of your heart. Your heart. I pray that you experience His unceasing, His unwavering and His unconditional love for you to be adopted into His royal family. We have complete freedom to lay our burdens at His precious feet.

Lots of love for you guys.
