Miami Mission Trip Recap

It’s hard to believe we have been back from Miami for almost two weeks now. The Lord worked in tremendous ways throughout the hearts of our students and the hearts of people in Miami. The week consisted of many blessings and challenges with each day. Some highlights of the trip were definitely singing at the Miami Rescue Mission to 200+ men, prayer walks at the port, singing for the children’s home, building and experiencing community among the youth group, and we can’t forget the countless dozens of Krispy Kreme donuts that students passed out each day. Working alongside Christ Centered Church and helping them spread the word about their new church coming to the Doral community was an eye-opening experience to many of our students. It was a reminder of how blessed we are to live in an area with many Bible believing/teaching churches.

It goes without saying that our week in Miami was awesome! The Lord blessed our students with so many opportunities to experience Him in new and exciting ways as we worked alongside the different ministries in Miami. Please continue to pray for those ministries we worked with as they continue to spread the Gospel within the city of Miami.

Those ministries are:

The Miami Mission trip was an incredible start to our summer! We are excited to see what else the Lord has in store for the student ministry this summer! For more information on upcoming events and news check out fbcostudents.com

Miami – Day 6

And just like that, our week in Miami is coming to a close! Today, our students packed up and set out for the Miami metro station. Each family group spent the morning riding the people movers and ministering the people riding along with them. This was an awesome way for the students to have opportunities to share their testimonies and have intentional conversations with such a diverse group of people. After an exciting morning, our day was far from complete. We said our goodbyes to the city of Miami and headed to the Florida Baptist Children’s Home in Lakeland, Florida.

The students led an incredible night of worship for all of the children and staff at the facility. However, one of the highlights of the evening was when Cathy Tidwell, a former resident of the children’s home, shared her testimony and how this facility and the Lord has impacted her life. Needless to say, our last day in Miami has been one to remember!

The Lord has moved in so many hearts throughout this trip! As we spend our last morning together having some fun at Universal Studios, please continue to pray for safe travels as we make our way back home and for the Lord to continue to work in the hearts of our adults and students long after this awesome trip is done!

Miami – Day 5

Wow! What another awesome day here in Miami! Again, students were able to spend their mornings doing mission work in the local area of Doral. Going door to door passing out donuts to local businesses, prayer walking at the international port, and working at the rescue mission were a few of the ways our students were able to serve today. It is evident that the Holy Spirit is working in the city of Doral and within our students this week!

The evening ended with worship on the beach and a time for students to share how the Lord has been working in their hearts throughout the week. As we enter into our last day in the city of Miami, please continue to lift up our students and adults in prayer for energy to finish out this trip strong!

Miami -Day 4

After such an encouraging night at the Miami Rescue Mission, everyone was ready to get moving on their mission projects this morning!

Groups spent the morning preparing lunches for the homeless shelter, prayer walking at the port, passing out donuts at the Doral police station and fire station, and doing yard work for a local school. As a whole the students spent the afternoon canvassing neighborhoods to spread more information about Christ-Centered Church, and then we went as a group to watch the Cubs play the Marlins.

So far this week in Miami has been nothing short of awesome! Continue to pray for our students, the people of Dural, and Christ-Centered Church.

If you would like to send encouragement to our students, you can by going to fbcostudents.com. Wednesday night at 9 pm (Central) will be the last time we will print notes this week.
