Day 5

Noelle Sanders (9th Grade)

The Lord showed me that shame really isn’t something we have to hold onto and that He wants us to confess our shame and give it to Him! I think that 1 John 1:9 really shows that as well, it says “if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us from our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” I think it’s really cool how the Lord just took Elizabeth’s shame for her…it showed me that the Lord desires to take our shame away. All we have to do is surrender it to Him. I really love Elizabeth’s words in Luke 1:25 as well: “’The Lord has done this for me,’ she said. ‘In these days, He has shown His favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.”

I think that shame is definitely something from the world—something that our culture and society casts on us. Shame is rooted from a lie that we are believing from the enemy. If you currently have any shame in your life, I challenge you to give it to the Lord!
