While I was reading this refocus message I thought, “why is it so difficult to surrender our lives to God’s leading?” – then I realized it’s not. I mean, look at what Mary did. The Bible says an angel named Gabriel appeared to her. It says “in the 6th month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth…greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” So Mary decided to surrender her life to Christ. That doesn’t sound too difficult, right? Wrong! You have to think of the circumstance in which this happened. Mary just had an angel appear miraculously in her living room, but she still sincerely obeyed Christ. Now, you have to imagine what was going through her head. Probably something along the lines of “what will my fiancé think?!” She also had all the pressure of the angel, that is still in her living room. I know if that was me, I probably wouldn’t be so calm and so sure of my decision.

In today’s time, if you were to make the decision to surrender your life to Christ you wouldn’t have any of these pressures. You wouldn’t have to worry about an Angel in your living room or any thing else. All you would have to think about is Jesus and what He did for you.
