Verse 18 – “This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant by the Holy Spirit.”

Do you ever experience tension, trust, anxiety, hope or even fear in your daily life? In verse 19, we see Mary experience just that as she is pledged to give birth to the Savior of the world…through the Holy Spirit. How crazy is that?! No one had ever seen or even heard of a Virgin birth. Could you imagine how overwhelmed Mary was with that news? This is just like life: in the same way things come up in our daily life that we don’t expect. It’s almost the exact same as what Mary went through given the news of having a baby through the Holy Spirit. It can sometimes catch us by surprise, but the reality of it all is how we handle it and what we do with our actions.
