Day 15 | Wesson Thornell

Patience is a concept that we all struggle with as humans. In our society, things come to us almost automatically, and if they don’t, we are quick to become anxious and sometimes, angry. Just imagine having to wait approximately 700 years for the prophecy of your people’s salvation to come true! I’ve been reminded that I need to be patient in both the small things and the big things in life. A delayed answer or “unanswered” prayer does not mean that God is unfaithful.

The verse that stuck out the most to me was Luke 1:33. It shows that God will always be there, no matter what is going on in my life. One way to apply this devotion in our lives is to not allow ourselves to be dragged down by our circumstances, just as the Israelites didn’t allow themselves to be discouraged by oppressive captivity and hardships.

Prayer: God, help me to remember that You are always there, even through the toughest situations. Give me the strength to be patient and to let your light shine through me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
