Have you ever thought about how crazy it is that you’re alive? Like if you really think about it…it kinda makes your brain hurt.

You and I aren’t just some cosmic accident. We aren’t just existing. We were created. A creator, rather the Creator, made you. Let that sink in for a minute.

It’s amazing that God created us. But what’s even more incredible is that God didn’t just create us and then leave us on our own. He made us, and then when we fell into sin, he rescued us. He allowed the created to kill the Creator so that we could be set free. Now we can walk in fellowship with God through the sacrifice of Jesus.

Romans 8 is an incredible chapter. It’s a reminder of where we’ve been and an explanation of what’s to come. Paul explains our sinful nature. He then shows us that we don’t have to live in sin but we are alive in the Spirit. He finishes out the chapter with a reminder of the glory of things to come. And through all of it, God’s love will never change. Amazing.

You’re alive. You have worth. You were created. You are loved.

Let those truths sink in today. The very breath in your lungs is a gift from the Creator.
